Todos
Santos Plaza was alive with vendors, music, race cars and
Mayor Bill Shinn, accompanied by City Council Members Laura
Hoffmeister and Mark Peterson, accepting the key to "Infineon
Raceway."
Concord
on the Green celebrates the revitalization of the downtown
area, as well as the many Todos Santos Plaza uses, from
Farmer's Market, to the Music at Noon and Music in the Plaza
series of performances.
The events, all under the
umbrella of Concordstock, celebrating 20 years of music in
the park, includes the July 1 scheduled Guiness record
breaking 2000 person guitar ensemble performance.
Friday, April 25, 2008 CONCORDSTOCK
to break Guiness Book of Records for
Largest Guitar Ensemble: Guitar
players urged to sign-up to
play in the July 1 celebration event.
Florence Weiss,
Coordinator for The City of Concord sits next to one of the
promotional guitar sculptures that local businesses are
decorating and will be auctioned off in September.
Concord
will celebrate 20 years of music programs at Todos Santos
Plaza in downtown Concord. To mark the occasion, the City
and the Todos Santos Business Association are launching a
public art project, “Concordstock.”
The name alludes to the 1969 music festival Woodstock, where
many of the most influential musical groups of the era
performed.
In addition, the city will be breaking the Guiness record
for the Largest Guitar Ensemble, held previously in Kansas.
The event will take place July 1, 2008 at Todos Santos
Plaza. Additional information can be obtained
